Not only does Sigmund Cohn Corp. pride itself on making quality products, we take pride in how our products and processes impact the environment.

Here's what we've done to improve our carbon footprint:

LED LIGHTING

Sigmund Cohn Corp. uses 100% LED lighting. LED lighting is up to 80% more efficient than traditional lighting and contains no toxic elements. Compared to fluorescents, LEDs need fewer lights to achieve the same levels of brightness and LED lights have a longer lifespan than traditional lights. Needing fewer, longer-lasting lights is a great benefit to the environment.

HVAC

In 2020, Sigmund Cohn Corp. upgraded it’s HVAC system for the vast majority of the building. A more efficient HVAC system results in fewer carbon emissions, and uses ozone friendly refrigerants.

Non-contact chilled water

Sigmund Cohn Corp. has replaced municipally sourced chilled water with closed loop systems. This reduces our water consumption.

Point-of-use hot water generators

Sigmund Cohn Corp. has installed point-of-use water heaters. This type of water heater applies the heat to a certain spot where the water is used, thus reducing the usage of water and energy.

Solar Panels

In July 2022, Sigmund Cohn Corp. installed a 200kW solar panel array. The solar panels generate 40% of our energy needs.

With the addition of solar panels, Sigmund Cohn Corp. has reduced its carbon footprint by:

• Decreasing greenhouse gas emissions

• Eliminating most of the air pollutants

• Reducing the reliance on fossil fuels
